Get into a comfortable position. Sit on your bed or on a sturdy chair. Be sure to be sitting up right with good posture but not tense we want to be relaxed mentally and physically when mediating. You don’t want to lean back or anything because you could end up falling asleep.
Now you just want to breathe and breathe naturally. Focus on your breath, in and out, in and out. Soon you will forget that you are counting and your mind will begin to wonder. This is fine, just notice that thought and bring your self back to your breathing.
