Remove All Distractions

Your mind will already be a big distraction when it comes to meditating with all the thoughts that will come into you head so make sure you don’t have any other distractions around you. Put your phone on silent and make sure that you are in a quiet dim room where you will be able to be alone for more than 10 minuets. This will help you concentrate on the next steps.

Get Comfy

Get into a comfortable position. Sit on your bed or on a sturdy chair. Be sure to be sitting up right with good posture but not tense we want to be relaxed mentally and physically when mediating. You don’t want to lean back or anything because you could end up falling asleep.

Breathe

Now you just want to breathe and breathe naturally. Focus on your breath, in and out, in and out. Soon you will forget that you are counting and your mind will begin to wonder. This is fine, just notice that thought and bring your self back to your breathing.

Other Ways of Meditating

Other ways you could meditate are walking meditation, shower meditation our guided meditation. Guided meditations seem to help me a lot when I can’t seem to get into the groove of meditation. Yoga could also get you into the mood to meditate by loosing up your body and getting you relaxed.

I find the meditating is a good way for me to release stress and also boost my creative process. It can be hard for me to meditate because of my younger sisters but I make time first thing in the morning when they are still asleep. I hope you found this article helpful and that you are able to relax more.
