Being Grateful

For the past few months we have been implementing gratitude into our daily lives. Every morning we open our journals and write something we are grateful for. By doing this we are becoming aware of the finer things in life and we are also teaching ourselves the importance of gratitude. Being truly grateful is really important in today’s world because there is so much to be grateful for. With all the technology, people and experiences it is incredibly thing you are grateful for everyday. You don’t have to do it first thing in the morning or write a whole page about what you are grateful for, just a simple three sentences will do. Showing you are grateful even for the smallest things like your favorite sweater, can be a great way to start or end the day. You could even write out what you are grateful for in the middle of the day as a positivity booster. The definition of being grateful is just being warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received. If you feel good about something write down why you grateful for it or the feeling you get when you think about that thing. There are so many things to be grateful for and so many ways to express that gratefulness. We know that we keep saying that ‘there are so many things to be grateful for’ but in reality there are just so many things to be grateful for. Just take a minute and type ‘the greatest things that happened in 2017’ and you get tons of results telling you about how vaccines were made and saved hundreds of people and how better living conditions were made and helped millions of people. Right there, is tons of things that you can be grateful for but only a handful of people write that. Doing this everyday for a week and you will start noticing changes in your life. Things will seem brighter and relationships more meaningful. It will become second nature for you. It’s also a good way to see how much you have grown. Looking back in your journal you will start to notice all the little things you are grateful for and you will start to see yourself become a better person. So take some time out of everyday to write down what you are grateful for and soon you will start to see results. When you do write something grateful you will feel relieved and when you relieved you just have a better day or night.
